dvbyell has been tested extensively and is considered stable as of version 1.0.0 released on 2008-08-01. There are no pending bugs I'm aware of. I'd be very happy if people report their experience (negative or positive) on the mailing list.

Starting with version 1.0.91 (aka 1.1.0pre1), dvbyell has its own DVB PSI/SI library (called libdypsi), so the dependency on libdvbpsi is no more. The latter has always been suspected to cause some stability issues. Additionally, dvbyell has been tested to be reliable even if invalid transport stream data is received (this has been tested by automatically generating random bit errors after the transport stream has been received). After a lengthy testing process, 1.0.96 (aka 1.1.0pre6) has been publically released and is considered to be rock solid. But as the 1.0 series has received more third-party testing, you may feel more comfortable with it. Once the 1.1pre release has seen more field testing, and after some documentation cleanups, 1.1.0 will be released.

dyepgsyncd reads the EPG XML messages transmitted by dystreamd and synchronizes them to a database (currently only MySQL is supported). It minimizes the database load by always keeping a copy of the EPG entries in memory and only adding/changing/deleting entries in the database when necessary.
